Your Heart to a Loving God and Begin to Live in Gratitude

God is emotionally involved with us

Written by admin on July 21, 2011 – 8:42 am -

God is emotionally involved with us. We do not serve a cold Greek philosophic god.

We serve a warm, kind Hebrew God who is similar to the image of man. He feels. For example, look at II Corinthians 1:3-4. God is encouraging. He has tender mercies. God desperately wants us to be melted into humanity, melted into a puddle of positive emotion by responding to His love.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of tender mercies and the God of every variety of encouragement; the encourager of us concerning every particular pressure with the goal being that we will be able to encourage those in every variety of pressure, through the encouragement with which we have been encouraged by God.
II Corinthians 1:3-4

God’s Love in fact pursues us Psalm 23:6 says literally, “Only goodness and Love have pursued me all the days of my life.”

A Study for Spiritual Transformation
by Dr. David Eckman

Connect Audio: Faith Opens Our Eyes

Faith is that profound psychological shift that opens up a vast, unseen world which leads you to a spirituality transformation where we believe what the world finds unbelievable. Hebrews 11:1 says, “And faith is the essence of things continually hoped for, and it is the certain conviction of things continually unseen.”

When we study Christ and understand that we can know the real Jesus who died for us, suddenly certainty occurs concerning our future hope of Heaven. Suddenly we recognize that we live under the umbrella of the grace of God, love of God, and His care and concern.

Biblical faith has purpose, content, and results. When we study Christ—the real Jesus— and His Word, and then exercise faith, the Spirit opens our eyes to the realities of the Trinity, the love of God and grace of God, and the truths of bible verses and Biblical analysis. Our responsibility is to make sure we know how to study the bible, are believing biblical analysis and content, and that our faith wants results from God. Such true faith will spark a spirituality transformation, changing our lives and opening our eyes. Faith is more than knowledge; faith changes lives.

This clip coincides with Chapter 6, Reading 5, of the Becoming What God Intended Workbook. It was originally broadcasted as a radio clip as a part of the weekly talk show of The Adventures of Amy & Larry, which aired on 100.7 The Bridge during the year 2003.

Aphesis Group

Aphesis [af-uh-sis]:Greek word meaning release from bondage or imprisonment, forgiveness or pardon of sins.
(Strong’s number 859; Definitions taken from the New Testament Greek).

An Aphesis Group is a special growth opportunity for people who want to go deeper in their understanding of and relationship with God, self and others.

An Aphesis Group is a 22 week small group discipleship process that effectively addresses the complexity of issues in believer’s spiritual, emotional, and relational life brought about from western culture’s unhealthy influences and disintegrating family structure.

THE EXPERIENCE is unique and theological. It walks believers through the process of coming to terms with life’s challenges. It offers real hope through discussion and deep contemplation of the transforming truths of scripture.

THE GOAL of this small group experience is to impart a new and more accurate understanding of self, others and God; resulting in the spiritual, emotional and relational health that all of us long for and few actually experience.

Aphesis Development History

The Aphesis Group materials and process was developed out of a twenty-two year friendship/mentoring relationship between Dr. David Eckman and Tim Rule.

Tim and David met in the late 1980’s when Tim started attending seminary classes from Western seminary. As an Area director for Campus Crusade for Christ and later on a regional director with CCC, Tim used Dr. Eckman’s skills in Biblical studies, teaching and influence with CCC staff and students.

During a 22 year span of time, Tim watched hundreds of staff and students lives change as a result of David’s Biblical teaching regarding family backgrounds and the inner life.

The Aphesis Group materials and process developed from the Biblical concepts Tim observed David using during those 22 years of partnering together. During a three year period Tim put these concepts into a transferable, sequential group process that has been time tested and proven effective through many years and hundreds of changed lives.
